How Many Heavens Are There? The Bible speaks of three heavens. The first is mentioned in Genesis 1:8 where God created the atmospheric heaven. In the King James Version it says, “And God called the firmament Heaven.” In Isaiah 13:10 it speaks of the “stars of heaven and the constellations.” That would be the second heaven. Jesus promised the disciples He was preparing a place for them, and would take them to His Father's house (John 14:1-3). Jesus called it paradise (Luke 23:43). In 2 Corinthians 12:1-4 Paul identifies the "third heaven" with "paradise."______________________________ By Bob Edwards. © 2009 AnswersForMe.org. Click here for content usage information.
